Reimagine Our Ministry
If we’ve done anything well over the more than 100 years we’ve been serving the city, it’s make adjustments to the way we’ve served in order to better meet the needs of a changing culture. For example, back in the 1920’s when the city needed a place to house a new branch library in the area, Sixth Avenue stepped up and offered space to make that happen. That’s right, there used to be a public library right inside the church building!
As we look ahead to our next 100 years of ministry, we are simultaneously looking back at our sacred ancestry to see what we can learn from the resilient folks that came before us. In doing so, we’ve discovered how important community partnerships have always been for us, and we have begun to reimagine them for the future of our ministry.

Deepen Existing Partnerships
We have some of the most incredible partners calling Sixth Avenue their home! You can read more about them here. As we move into our next 100 years of ministry, we want to support these organizations more than ever. As we advocate for them through strategic internal and external communication, provide targeted networking opportunities, even volunteer support, their life-changing work will continue to grow spreading the transformation far and wide. Now that's being a light in the city!

Develop New Partnerships
Future ministry strategy will require new collaborations and innovative solutions. As this capital campaign enables us to renew our facility and meet needs in an evolving culture, there will be opportunities to develop new partnerships that were not previously possible. Together, we'll design innovative ways to support folks on the margins of society. That could include specialized migrant care, artist development, local neighborhood wellness, and much more. We can't wait to start dreaming together!
