Our next gathering is June 14th at 3 pm.

Theology on Tap

Once a month we gather with others from the Kirk of Bonnie Brae UCC to share our thoughts and wisdom around various topics and how our faith intersects them.

Next gathering is: June 9th at 4 pm. at the Kirk of Bonnie Brae, discussion topic is: Pronouns for God.

Children’s Corner

We are planning an exciting year of children’s ministry at 6th Avenue! Arden will be reading with our kids and talking about how the messages relate to their lives. If you would like to help, please consider contributing to our children’s library.

We are also planning special activities on the first Sunday of each month, including inviting our children to participate in communion.

If you would like to contribute a children’s ministry activity (i.e. a craft, song, acting out a Bible verse, game, etc.) please let Chris know, or click this link for our amazon wish list!

 Serving with Care:

A Leadership Workshop on Communication and Connection,

Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 11:30-1:00 pm.

Leadership in a church community often asks us to navigate not only what needs to be done but also how we show up and communicate along the way. We’ll practice listening with intention and communicating with clarity across the many ways we engage with one another, whether in person, online, or through email. Whether you're currently in a leadership role or considering stepping into one, you're invited to this interactive learning session.

Please RSVP to Sara Chatfield Gordon so we can plan on how much food to order.

Opportunities

to Serve

Looking for a way to deepen your connection at Sixth?
We’re gathering a dynamic group of volunteers—long-time members, newer faces, and regular guests—to serve on four exciting ministry teams that are shaping the future of our community. Whether you’re a spreadsheet lover, a wordsmith, a creative brainstormer, or someone who just enjoys good conversation and meaningful impact, there’s a spot for you at the table.

Curious? Inspired? Ready to jump in?
Reach out to Sara Chatfield Gordon and let us know where your passion meets possibility.

Here’s what’s cooking:

🟣 Open and Affirming Team
Help us bring fresh, modern language to our church’s Open and Affirming statement. Two meetings max—make a big impact in a short time.

🟢 La Foret Retreat Team
Help dream and plan this fall’s retreat (Nov. 15–16) at beautiful La Foret. If you’ve got a heart for hospitality, creativity, or organizing meaningful connection, this is for you.

🟠 Stewardship Team
Shape the vision for our 2025 giving campaign. We’ll meet over the summer and fall to choose a theme and craft a campaign that reflects who we are and where we’re going.

🔵 Bylaws Team
It’s not glamorous—but it is vital. Help us revise our bylaws this fall so they reflect our vibrant, growing community and support where we're headed.

Let’s build what’s next—together.
